Chet's Preseason Top 20

Updated: Feb 16, 2023

20. Syracuse

Big time gets in the portal with Simmons and Kirst and bringing in the number 1 recruiting class should change some things from last season. I expect the orange to make some noise.

19. Michigan

Josh Zawada returns for his final year I expect him to bring Michigan some success and win some big games.

18. North Carolina

Interesting to see how they will be after losing Chris Gray they will have to find someone to turn to on offense to be their guy.

17. Denver

Expect Tierney to have his guys in line for his final season, not conference contenders but definitely a solid team.

16. Richmond

Big loss of Ryan Lanchbury but expect a tight race in the Atlantic ten. Spiders picked up Hobart's top goal scorer Derrek Madonna in the portal as a grad transfer to join his younger brother and will have the potential to upset Maryland in week 1.

15. Brown

Bringing back Devon McLane. Should be a decent team.

14. St. Joes

Bunch of 30-year-old Canadians running around on the field, drippy uniforms, and returning Zach Cole they will be a tough team to play.

13. Boston U

Solid all-around team, the favorite to win the patriot league.

12. Harvard

Returning a great lsm in Greg Campisi and a couple of key players on offense, bringing in some good freshmen as well.

11. Rutgers

10. Ohio State

Bringing back their best attackman jack Meyers and adding LIU star Richie LaCalandra from the transfer portal should make for a strong offense. They also have Mitchell Pehlke.

9. Penn

Sam Handley returns, you guys know how I feel about him. Penn should be a good team though.

8. Princeton

7. Yale

I expect Matt Brandau to be one of the best attackman this season, Elis also return a lot of good freshmen such as Leo Johnson, Johnny Keib, etc.

6. Notre Dame

Pat Kavanaugh is back with his brother and eric dobson to lead the Irish offense. They bring in Chris Fake from the portal to add to their defense. This year could have some major implications for Kevin Corrigan's job.

5. Cornell

Cj Kirst looks to go back to championship weekend after an incredible freshman year. Big Red is bringing back many key players, and I expect them to win the Ivy League easily.

4. Georgetown

Hoyas add the best player in the portal, Tucker Dordevic. This year is a major step for them to become a blue blood program.

3. Duke

Returning one of the best players in the country who only keeps getting better, Brennan O'Neil as well as young midfielder Andrew Macadory. I expect John Danowski to figure it out this year and their 2020 recruiting class to start living up to their hype.

2. Maryland

1. Virginia
