Boy am I psyched for this matchup, weeknight games never seem to disappoint (and a great excuse to drink, HA HA). Both teams coming in off wins (I say that lightly because UNC beat mercer) and a classic ACC vs Big 10 showdown. As good a matchup as Michelob Ultra vs Miller lite, Tar Heel blue vs Hopkins blue, guys that like blondes vs guys that like brunettes (may or may not be true in this scenario). Hopkins comes into this game red hot after a massive win against Georgetown Saturday and UNC comes in off a showing of offensive firepower blistering Mercer 25-3. Both teams seem to play very well with each other and have good fundamental lacrosse, the absence of Chris gray has left UNC with a more 2 man game/team ball offense rather than just giving the ball to Chris every time. Hopkins sort of had the same deal last year with Joey Epstein and Connor DeSimone. I think UNC will be dominant in the midfield with stallions like lsm Tyler Schwarz and ssdm Connor Maher both of these guys are dawgs and love their fair share of time in the Zeta house. Both teams have strong goalies but I'm gonna give the edge to Hopkins with how well Tim Marcille has been playing, 16 saves against an incredibly potent Georgetown offense is no easy feat. I predict that Russel Melendez and Jacob Angelus give UNC too much to handle and escape with a win. Interesting to see North Carolina as a -155 favorite so if I were you I would make a play on Hopkins ML +125 and take the over at 25.5 -120. Hope to see a great game tomorrow!
