What a win from Loyola. Especially brilliant from their rope unit, containing the Maryland midfield to just two goals. Highlighting this d mid line is Zyn lacrosse preseason All-American Payton Rezanka, but today we'll focus on his linemate Mustang Sally. In addition to a stellar defensive performance, Mustang had a goal for the greyhounds, delivering a dagger in transition, which was assisted by Rezanka. His goal made it 6-9 (nice) in favor of the hounds, a deficit that the reigning champs could not overcome. These Loyola boys really got after it. I used to think ssdms didn't like girls, but rumor has it that the Rezanka-Sally duo followed the Maryland bus back to College Park and wreaked havoc all down sorority row that night.
August "Mustang" Sally, a native of Denver, began his college career at the University of Richmond, where he played for 2 years. He then transferred to Loyola University and hasn't looked back. He played in all 16 games last year, scooping 17 gbs and causing 13 turnovers with an assist. Given that he's already matched his points total we can expect a huge year for Big Stang.
