Holy hell. 9 games on a Tuesday? Thought I was trippin balls but alas I am not. Should have a few good games and a fuck ton of beatdowns.
Hofstra vs LIU- 11:00 am
This game will have already started by the time this article is out but who the fuck cares. LIU coming off a subpar performance against Lindenwood, handing them their first D1 win. Also lost to Merrimack by a 6 goal margin. Hofstra is already 0-3, losing to Merrimack as well (3 goal margin), as well as a mickey mouse Navy squad and a sneaky good Michigan team. Expecting Hofstra to come out victorious here, but it could be closer than we expect.
Monmouth vs NJIT - 2:00 pm
Another battle of winless teams here, with Monmouth coming fresh off of a 22-9 beatdown at the hands of Princeton, and NJIT losing to Siena (12-11) and Mount St. Mary's (10-13). Monmouth is a 3.5 point favorite in this one, but I could see NJIT cutting it close, but still losing because they're shit.
Army vs Wagner - 3:00 pm
This could get out of hand quickly. Wagner is 0-1 after getting touched up by Fairfield, and Army is 1-1 after losing a close game to Umass, and then rebounding to beat Rutgers, and they're looking great. The Black Knights are 10.5 point favorites in this one, but expect them to go beyond that and keep their first line middies in all game. Joe Alberici does not give a fuck. Expect Reese Burek to have another stellar performance today, and our future armed forces to do Wagner like they did Iraq.
Michigan vs Canisius - 3:00 pm
This is another game that could get out of hand quick. Canisius is 0-2 by the likes of Hobart (20-14) and Bellarmine (14-4). Michigan gave UVA all they could handle in a close 17-13 loss, and then rebounded with a win vs Hofstra. The line is set at 10.5 in favor of the Wolverines, and I can't see it being at all close. Josh Zawada might fuck around and score 10.
Brown vs Providence - 3:00 pm
This might be the first close game of the day. Brown is 0-1 after losing a battle against America's team, the Quinnipiac bobcats, which is nothing to be ashamed of. The Friars are 2-1 with wins against Holy Cross and Siena, and a close loss to Bryant. Providence may be on fraud watch with this record so far, and I'm sure Brown is looking to bounce back after their 1 goal loss. Brown is a 4.5 point favorite, and I could see them coming out with some vengeance. Connor Theriault in cage for the Bears should stifle any thought of a Providence win today.
VMI vs Hampton- 4:00 pm
Hampton fucking sucks. VMI isn't much better. However, VMI is above .500 with wins against Queens and Detroit Mercy, while Hampton is 0-1 after giving Queens their first D1 win. I like VMI in this one, but these teams are in the nosebleeds of Division 1 lacrosse. There are better things to do with your life than to watch this game.
Robert Morris vs St. Bonaventure - 4:00 pm
Two teams built on the back of Canadian grit, but with that comes Canadian alcoholism. St. Bonaventure has definitely looked the part, losing to Bellarmine and Binghamton, two mickey mouse programs. These guys definitely slam cases before games. You have to be hung as fuck to lose to Bellarmine. Bobby Mo is 1-0 after beating Bucknell, but I'm not that impressed. Expect Robert Morris to win in a close battle of big boy lacrosse.
Drexel vs Lafayette - 5:30 pm
Honestly not sure about this one. Drexel has been good in the past few years, but they're 0-1 this year after losing to UMBC. Lafayette is 1-2, with their only win against Sacred Heart, who should probably be D3 or even MCLA. The Dragons are favorites here, and probably will come out with a win.
Princeton vs Manhattan - 6:00 pm
Rounding out this game has a buzzing Manhattan squad facing off against Tyler Sandoval's mickey mouse Princeton Tigers. Both squads have fogos at 59% on the year, and I could see Manhattan's Liam McDonough giving Sandoval the business at the faceoff stripe. Expect Kyle Gucwa to drop 5 goals. In the last MAAC vs Ivy League matchup, Quinnipiac ousted Brown 11-10. These are different circumstances, and Princeton will probably win, but Manhattan should keep it close and once again prove why the Ivy League is overrated and the MAAC is coming for their crown.
